Survey: Do you use Internet protection software to keep your kids away from unclean sites?

...like Yahoo! Answers and all those other questionable sites that display nude models in various poses.

Survey: Do you use Internet protection software to keep your kids away from unclean sites?
If I have kids, I would have protection software for when they're younger, but once they reach the teen years, I'd take it off. Instead of sheltering them, I'd teach them common sense and to think for themselves. Teach them what's right and wrong.

So, little kids don't need to see unclean sites, and teens wouldn't be harmed from seeing them.
Reply:Nope, not unless you include 'other people in the room, because the computer is in the living room' as 'Internet protection software'.

I would rather teach my kids that the world (and the internet) is full of all kinds of stuff %26amp; that it's up to them to decide what's right %26amp; what they'll include in their lives.
Reply:No, I do not. I only allow my children to access the internet with parental supervision. I get the same result (or much better) without having to use the software.
Reply:We use child safety controls on all those things that have questionable materials... We also do not allow children on the computer in any room other than the Office which is where computer stuff happens and in public view of each other...
Reply:They don't do anything.

Teenagers are much computer-smarter than the typical adult.

If they want to look at porn, they'll get around any protection software you have,
Reply:Yes because i use pc-illin security becuase that ahs strict parental control
Reply:NO. I LET MY 10 YEAR OLD LOOK AT PORN SITES AND EXPERIMENT WITH PLAYING WITH HIS SLONG.
Reply:No...I would never let my child use the Internet without me being with them! The Internet is 2 dangerous for children!
Reply:I will when it's time!
